Donald Miller

donmiller1.jpg If you’re ever at a place in life where you’re starting to feel overwhelmed, please open up a book by Donald Miller.  Awhile back I read Blue Like Jazz, and I just recently finished another of his – Through Painted Deserts.  Actually, I didn’t read these… I listened to the audiobooks.  I highly recommend it.  I bought them on iTunes and burned CDs to listen to in my car.  It’s been so much fun getting into my car these days – even if it’s only for my 10-minute drive to work.  He reads the books himself, so the voice & inflection is outstanding.  This man is a brilliant writer.  He obviously loves God, loves life, and wants to make the most of his time here.  ”Reading” his books has caused me to breathe a bit deeper and care a bit less about the things that don’t matter.  He is deep and thoughtful… Please take the time to sit down with one of these books.  I promise you won’t regret it.

    Casey,

I just finished Blue Like Jazz and I told my husband I think it is the best book I have ever read. I can’t explain it and I know you understand because you have read it, but it is amazing. I just ordered another one…Searching for God Knows What but I will have to try the Desert one next. I was in a spiritual funk, praying for something to help get me out of it and in a very strange way was introduced to Blue Like Jazz. Now I want to buy a copy of it for everyone I know! Thanks for posting about it!

Oh, BTW…Richard and I have been trying for a BFP (big fat positive in fertility shorthand) for over a year now. We have our first Dr.’s appointment in Lubbock for the fertility specialist in a week. We’re looking forward to it! Good luck and remember…have fun trying!
